This service for Reformation reminds us that we trust only Jesus for our salvation. Martin Luther in his 95 Theses declared that it was not indulgences or our good works or our standing in the church that saves us from sin, death and the devil but only the blood of Jesus shed on the cross for the forgiveness of all our sins. In word and song, we celebrate in this service this Good News that Jesus alone saves. Hymns include “I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus,” “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and “My Faith Looks Up to Thee.”
